Frequently asked questions

How is a website's worth estimated?

We compute two values and keep the higher one. The traffic value comes from the site's global rank: higher-ranked sites receive far more visits and therefore more potential advertising revenue, plus a small, capped bonus for the domain's age. The activity value adds observable signs of an active, professionally run website — professional email, SPF, CDN, business services verified in DNS and security headers. Every signal is listed in the report. It is an automated estimate, not an appraisal or a sale price.

Where does the traffic rank come from?

Ranks are provided by Rankeez, which aggregates public top-site lists (Tranco, Majestic, DomCop and Cisco Umbrella). Visits and page views shown in reports are modelled from that rank. StatMemory is not affiliated with Amazon Alexa, which shut down its ranking in 2022.

How fresh is the data?

Ranks are refreshed continuously in the background; each report shows when it was last updated. You can also press Update data on any report to re-crawl the homepage, DNS and WHOIS immediately (once per hour per domain).

Can I analyze my own website?

Yes — type any domain in the search box. If we have never seen it before, the first analysis takes a few seconds. Site owners can also embed a live rank badge from the bottom of their report.

Is StatMemory free?

Yes. Every report is free and requires no account.
